Youth Shooting Routine Are Preventable

This article that I came across in the metro newspaper was something I had to share with you. Child-shooting incidents in the US are common and avoidable, said researchers who compiled data in Colorado, one of the first studies of its kind. The authors who provided these information documented shootings at two emergency rooms in Denver and Aurora between 2000-2008, and found 129 cases of gun injuries for children ages 4 to 17. It suggest the trends show shootings are routine and are not decreasing," study author Dr Angela Sauaia, of the Colorado School of Public Health. But something can be done about it. Suggested in the reports fourteen percent of injuries were self- inflicted from kids managing to access unlocked loaded guns."Which goes into my next argument since the government if pushing for more gun controls why not have a solution within reach, gun control campaign. Since there has been tremendous advances in personalized security, through key codes and biometrics; you can lock an Ipad with a retinal scan said Josh Horwtiz executive director of the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence.  Solutions like this is preventable, its unfortunate that gun manufacturers are not using the technology available, and hopefully new research like this can  concider the notion into action.  This may not solve all of our gun problems, because are other contributing factors such as lack of employment, education, and resources, but I diffidently think its a step in the right direction. Second amendment  supporters are skeptical. "Sometimes the safest thing is to keep a loaded gun in easy access. But if  the balance rest on us keeping our second amendment rights then we have to act wisly and responsibly.
