Youth Programs vs Criminal Institutions
Ive been reflecting on this topic for a while now, and I believe its an important social issue that continues to plague our society today. Why are there more jails in the impoverished areas compared to the suburbs or any other areas. Its a mind bobbling question that makes me really thing about the greed and selfishness and the lack of compassion in our society. Why is it that we have more jails, compared to Youth Outreach programs? Are these things established so we become mentally and physically stuck, so we lose hope, and give up on life as an entirety? I believe that everything starts for the root and the seed. Look at today's scenario, kids born in the ghetto stem to have a much harsher life when they grow up, because of the environment of what they know and understand. Provided in Darwin Theory, Survival of the fittest". Is this the right way to survive? No, I agree not? I believe that there should be more government funded programs for children, especially those who don't have the means or lack of support so they can attain a level of excellence. If we provide children with these facilities at a young age, then we still something that will carry on for a life time. Positivity, self confidence, pride, love, and inspiration. The problem with our society today is that we play more on the negativity and punishment, so our youths are at a disadvantage from the get go.I believe we should take the money we invest in Criminal Institutions and provide ways to uplift our youths, so when they become of age, they have all the tools needed to become bright and shinning stars. We as a society need to evaluate our priorities and instill the hope in the children of tomorrow. That way, it becomes a long and everlasting feeling, that will be felt on future generations to come.
