Intrusion Is The New Norm

 Over the weekend, there has been  new classified information that the government is secretly tapping into our lives more and more thanks to the Patriot Act. A 29 year old contractor at the US surveillance programs to alert the public to what is being done in their name. Edward Snowden a former CIA technical assistant who was working at the super-secret NSA, as an employee of defense contractor Booz Allen Hamilton, is hiding in a Hotel in Hong Kong after leaving the United States with secret documents. Further reports indicate, revelations last week that U.S. security services monitored data about phone calls from Verizon and Internet data from large companies such as Google and face book. The exposure of the secret programs has triggered widespread debate within the United States and abroad about the vast reach of the NSA, which has expanded its surveillance programs dramatically in the last decade. US. officials claims the agency operates within the law. I find this individuals to be completely brave, knowing that he may face prison time, or even possibly death makes me think he understand his purpose and his mission. Quoted in the metro- newspaper this morning," I understand that I will be made to suffer for my actions," Does he have a point in his action? Does the American people have a right to know whether or not their lives are being intruded by the same people that swore to protect them ? I may might have the answer, but there was a president in the past that made an interested statement regarding our individual rights and freedom.
