Supermoon Lights Up The World

The moon controls the tides of the oceans, but early morning, Sunday, June 23, observers from all around the world  got a magnificent and a rare glimpse of the 2013 super moon as it loomed from above the earth . A super moon happens only when a full or new moon is at its closest orbit to the Earth throughout the year. The moon appears 14 percent larger than normal, but the difference is so small that most sky watchers won't notice.The next time that the moon will be this close to the earth again is in August 2014.
