Another Starlight Faded .........Legendary Singer Lena Horne

Many of you are familiar with many famous Jazz musicians, but this legend should not go unnoticed. Lena Horne had a soft enchanting voice that captured the hearts of many,which eventually brought her to the mainstream. She died yesterday at the age of 92. Lena Horne made her mark in the 1940´s, she was the first black entertainer, who was invited to play with a white band. Along with other first, she was the first to play the Copacabana nightclub and among a handful with a Hollywood films. In 1943, MGM Studios loaned her to 20th Century-Fox to play the role of Selina Rogers in the all-black movie musical “Stormy Weather.” Her recognition of the title song, became a major hit and her signature piece. We will miss this faded star, who shared her talent and illustrious voice to the world. I am going to post a video of one of her most famous piece to date. Thanks for the memories Lena. Yes I do want to rent, but I still can't believe your giving me such a good deal. The dread says. Well daugtha I and I wha yu fi enjoy yu stay. The woman response, alright, I will take it. The Dread shouts. Selassie Jah, I and I geh yu thanks onto thy name. The woman in the same tone, where do I go to pick up the keys to the car. The Dread baffled, oh, I and I did think seh yu come yah fi rent a dread.

A rastaman goes into a bank with the intention to open an account, The clerk ask the rastaman, do you have an id to open an account,the rastaman replies, no mon, I and I nuh belive inna dem ting deh, cause I and I nuh wha no problems wid Babylon.The clerk replies, well sir, in order for you to open a bank account with us, we need some type of identification, The rastaman with a look of confusion, goes deep into his pockets,searching for something to give to the clerk. The rastaman pulls out a joint and hands it to the clerk, The clerk shocked, Whats this sir! The rastaman replies, I and I deh yah fi open a joint account.

Fall Of The Republic

As we come to the realization that the world is no longer the same, and its going in a downward shift. We the people need to start asking questions and start taking a stand on issues that affect us. We the people have the power to afflict change, but in order to do so, we need to unite on a global front,otherwise the system we know, will crumble and fall. The fall of the republic is here, and we have to organize and start the revolution now!

Reggae Concert In Costa Rica

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend a reggae concert in Costa Rica, for the first time since I arrived. I went to a place called Geko Tower, which was twenty minutes from the international airport in Costa Rica. The place was jam packed with people dressed in Rasta colors and African outfits, which reflected the culture of reggae music. The event was loaded with popular artist such as Black Uhuru,and Fanton Mojah. When I first arrived at the event, people were waiting in anticipation.Jamaican/African flags were waving, and people were swaying back and fourth, listening to the mellow sounds of Bob Marley, and other passing greats. The vibes were evident, as people were drinking and smoking, soaking up the vibes of the atmosphere. When Fanton Mojah came on stage to perform, the crowd went electric! Jumping up and down, singing along to their favorite songs. What made his performance so memorable, is when he asked a couple from the audience to come up on stage, and profess their undying love for each another, as the crowd looked on with excitement, making a spectikal of the moment. As the acts went on, the vibes circulated across the entire arena, as flags and lighters went high in the air. The last performance was given by one of reggae's most popular groups, Black Uhuru, who had stellar performance, singing most of their recognizable hits. At nights end, the arena was congested and there was nowhere to walk, as the crowd moved closer to the stage. At the end of the night, you can tell that everyone was exhausted, enjoying the day of sweet sounds and positive vibes. All and all,from my feedback, I believe fans got their moneys worth.

Earthquake in China Wakeup Call For The World

As the world morns yet again another natural disaster, we are starting to realize that there is something greater out there, beyond our control. In the aftermath of what's taking place around the world, we cannot help or prevent these natural disasters from happening, but we can ensure we need to come together as a society for the survival of humankind. The earthquake that hit China is a reminder of the forces out there, and the capabilities that mother earth has, to end life in an instant flash. The Quake that hit China killed 589 people and injuring 10,00o others as the number will begin to tally as each passing day goes by. Soldiers and civilians are doing the best they can using shovels and their bare hands to dig out survivors. Buildings and infrastructures were shaken and many came crying into the streets, as fears took the entire nation. Relief emergency funds are in place, but as always we as civilians need to do our part and assist those affected. We need to take into consideration, what if this happened to us? wouldn't we want someone to help us out? As the world begins to turn, I wouldn't be surprised if more of these events occur in the near future, but these events should teach us a lesson, about coming together as a planet and disclose everyday things we think we need to survive.
