I had a chance to browse through the am new york publication this morning. It brought up an important topic when it comes to the dangers of drinking. Excessive alcohol consumption does not only short term affects, but long term affects for your skin. Drinking alcohol dehydrates the skin, leaving it dull and dried up, even causing you to age faster. The reason being, because nutrients, including vitamin A which is vital in the generation of new cells. Since vitamin A fuels collagen production, this causes skin to lose elastically over time. Internally now, heavy drinking can cause blood vessels in the face to dilate, causing red, spidery veins. If heavy drinking continues, blood vessels will grow, leading to permanent redness and roscacea. Its an important topic of discussion because most people don't consider alcohol's effect on the skin, because its more linked to internal problems in the long run. Concerning the liver, and even the brain. Most just worry about the short term affects like headaches they will face the next day. Like myself, drinking brings me to a level of comfort and relaxation, but its important to moderate drinking to keep the mind and body healthy.
