The X Factors To Success
When it comes to success, there are many contributing factors that will determine how far you will go. During my 31 years, I have found my method to ensure these contributing factors form a winning strategy. Focus: Identifying what you want and setting short and long term goals gives you a sense of purpose and will. The key to this is stay the course, because there will be some high tides along your journey.
Be Consistent: Ask yourself, what personal skills do I need to sharpen to reach my goal. When it comes to meeting your goal what are you doing everyday to make sure they are met. Make a do list and stick with it. Daily, monthly, yearly, make sure your check them off as you go, the more progress you make the better you will feel about yourself.
Keep Going: Life can give us as unexpected twist of fate, but the secret to it is never give up.
Once you achieve a goal, make a new one . Once you accomplish that make new ones Continual practice will affirm your goals creating your routine over a lifetime.
Accountability: Take pride and ownership in your success, by placing the ones on yourself to see it
through to completion. Differentiate what are your long-term goals and short
term goals. Establish a system that works for you. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and declare your goals to family and friends. Its not enough to be talented, but you have to develop winning traits to help you get to the next level.

Happy St Patricks Day (Health Tip)
I had a chance to browse through the am new york publication this morning. It brought up an important topic when it comes to the dangers of drinking. Excessive alcohol consumption does not only short term affects, but long term affects for your skin. Drinking alcohol dehydrates the skin, leaving it dull and dried up, even causing you to age faster. The reason being, because nutrients, including vitamin A which is vital in the generation of new cells. Since vitamin A fuels collagen production, this causes skin to lose elastically over time. Internally now, heavy drinking can cause blood vessels in the face to dilate, causing red, spidery veins. If heavy drinking continues, blood vessels will grow, leading to permanent redness and roscacea. Its an important topic of discussion because most people don't consider alcohol's effect on the skin, because its more linked to internal problems in the long run. Concerning the liver, and even the brain. Most just worry about the short term affects like headaches they will face the next day. Like myself, drinking brings me to a level of comfort and relaxation, but its important to moderate drinking to keep the mind and body healthy.04 March, 2013

New York City Ban
In the Metro news this morning. Its stated, A majority of New Yorkers support Mayor Micheal Bloomberg's proposed ban on Styrofoam containers, but are less supportive of his ban on large soda, according to a poll. The major's vision and effort to go green have found some on the opposite side of the fence. New York city voters support plastic foam ban 69% percent to 26%. When it comes to sugary drinks larger than 16 ounces, New Yorkers oppose 51% to 46%. The ban on sugary drinks goes into effect March 12. I find both sides of the argument a plus on the Major's part. Why not initiate something positive that will reduce obesity, especially among children. I generally believe its a step in the right direction, which will lead to the practice of better self control. In the end other cities and other states will follow. Since diabetes and heart disease is on the rise in the US, we can now be known as a healthy nation. Styrofoam cups as we have known for a long time is problematic for the environment, because when fumes are released into the atmosphere the chemicals that we inhale spell doom for our bodies and our internal organs. Some will argue well its cheaper for companies to purchase, its the only alternative they know, but there is no greater value than human life. I applaud the city for looking into other alternatives, which would force food places to use containers.
Foam trays in school cafeterias would be eliminated as well, which will teach students to be more environmental aware. I support the mayor's vision when it comes to these issues. Lets push for a Greener New York.

Survival Kit Haiti Foundation
This weekend I had the opportunity to provide my services to those in need. Along with my sister and other youth volunteers, we helped pack and sort basic goods to the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. From school supplies to everyday basic necessities such as soap, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc, volunteers were willing to pitch in and get their hands dirty. The young ladies were in charge of gathering the school supplies and packing them in barrels, while the young men gathered boxes, filled with clothes, toys and goods and loaded them to the front for the pickup trucks. I had a great experience helping out and getting to know them personable. Knowing that the future is in the hands of these dedicated individuals that are willing to make a difference gives me hope that the future is bright.
